About

I'm Ting. I Help Brands Connect Across Languages and Cultures.

Taiwan roots. A year in the US. 10 years in Japan. Now calling Sweden home.

I’ve spent my life crossing borders — and it turns out, that’s exactly what makes me good at what I do.

Great communication isn’t just about words.

It’s about knowing what your audience expects, how they think, and what actually makes them trust you.

I started my multilingual career in 2001 — and haven’t stopped since.

I’ve been taking on freelance projects globally, working with brands across industries who need more than just translation —

they need someone who gets the culture too.

Today, my core focus is the Chinese-speaking world — Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Mainland China.

Three markets that share a language but not much else. Different platforms, different search behavior, different ways of building trust.

I help Western companies navigate all three. I also work with clients entering Japanese markets.

From market entry strategy to SEO & GEO content to full localization projects,

I bring both the language instinct and the strategic thinking that most single-language writers simply can’t offer.

My Unofficial Rules for Good Work

01.

Get the words right

Not just grammatically but culturally. A sentence can be perfectly translated and still land wrong. I don't stop until it sounds like it was written there.

02.

Know the room

The Taiwanese 'we'll think about it.' The Hong Kong meeting that skips small talk entirely. The mainland Chinese negotiation that moves faster than you expect. I know what each of them actually means.

03.

Say what you mean

The best content doesn't try to sound smart. It just makes the reader nod and think "yes, exactly." That's what I aim for every time.

04.

Stay curious

Markets shift. AI is changing how people search. What worked last year might not work next year. I stay on top of it, so my clients don't have to.

A Note on How I Work

I work with a small number of clients at a time,
because doing this well takes focus, not volume.

You get one person who understands the full picture
— the strategy, the language, and the content.
No briefing three different people
No things falling through the cracks
One specialist. Full ownership.
